Find a Great Cruise or Travel Adventure

I am an avid traveler, and as such, I live according to my favorite quote by Saint Augustine: “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” I thoroughly believe that heading out for travel adventures not only opens up the world, it makes us better people. I’ve learn so much about myself by learning about other cultures, discovering beautiful places, forming lifelong memories, and interacting with a wide diversity of people, and I love helping my clients do the same. Many years ago, when I was an undergraduate student, I had one of my first travel adventures during a summer semester in Guadalajara, Mexico. There, I lived with a family, studied and completely immersed myself into the rich Mexican culture. It was truly a life-changing experiences, and it’s one that has carried into my work as a travel agent. I love sending my clients on trips that will add pages to the proverbial books of their lives by exposing them to new places, cultures and experiences.  A few years later, as a graduate student, I spent a summer in northwestern Spain. There, I studied at one of the oldest universities in Europe, the University of Salamanca, which was established in 1134. This opportunity and the experience to tour all over the Iberian Peninsula is, perhaps, what started my love affair with Europe. Since then, I’ve enjoyed travel adventures in most of the countries across this continent, and today, I love nothing better than booking trips for my luxury and corporate clients who are also seeking travel adventures in some of my favorite places, most beautiful places, including Prague, in the Czech Republic, and Sicily, Italy, which is just stunningly beautiful. I haven’t just limited my travels to Europe. When I visited Seoul, the capital and largest metropolis of the Republic of Korea, I was blown away not only by its modern grandiosity, but also by how it also maintains its ancient and rich history right in the heart of the city. Visiting this beautiful country, I felt as though I had been transported thousands of years into the past. Then I’d walk a few blocks and think I had been sent 200 years into the future. Later in life, I discovered the South African wildlife on safari, which was truly the travel adventure of a lifetime. I’ve also enjoyed wine tours in South Africa. Cape Town is my absolute favorite city, and it really couldn’t seem any different from Ontario, Canada, which is where I’m from. What amazed me about this beautiful city is that when you approach it from the airport, I could see Table Mountain in the distance, and from the way the clouds were rolling and tumbling over the mountain it looked just like Niagara Falls, which is close to where I grew up. Through this experience, I learned that sometimes, our travel adventures not only broaden our horizons, but they help us form connections between places, people and cultures. Two years ago, I went on an amazing 14-night South American cruise going down the coast of Chile and then up the coast of Argentina. It was absolutely spectacular, and I spent quite a bit of time hiking over the mountains of Ushuaia, Argentina, which is commonly regarded as the southernmost city in the world. Finding the right cruise for my clients is important to me, particularly as I’m acutely aware of how different one can be from another. I usually cater to corporate clients who expect a certain amount of luxury, but this can mean different things on a short cruise in the Caribbean and a longer cruise along the coast of South America. Having traveled extensively, I know all of the right questions to ask how to find a cruise or when making arrangements with travel adventure outfitters. A great perk for my clients is that I speak English, French, Italian and Spanish, meaning my connections with tourism outfits is often more meaningful than if I were only to speak English. If Saint Augustine is correct in thinking that the world is a book only for people who have traveled, then surely, I’ve filled multiple volumes. It’s my vast love of travel that has shaped who I am today, and nothing thrills me more than helping my clients plan many exciting pages of luxury travel adventures of their own.
