My first trip to India was in 1966 on a trip I had planned for the Brooklyn Museum. The curator of the Museum was from India, and he arranged for our group to be received by the prime minister. We also had special entrée into many of the top museums and enjoyed private tours. That trip began my love affair with India. I have led many groups to India since then, each time discovering new and more wonderful aspects of the country.
It is a fascinating part of the world. Religion, temples, shrines, foods, and language all change from region to region.
Start in Southern India in Late January for all the festivals, starting in Chennai, travel in a “u” and see temples and games parks and end on the coast around Kochi, where there are glorious tea plantations.
