What does nursing have to do with travel planning? Aside from being the two careers I have pursued, both involve helping people, being empathetic to people's needs, and - according to the latest studies on the health benefits of travel - helping people live healthier lives.
I have always loved traveling. In fact, after my husband graduated medical school, we took a three month honeymoon traveling around Europe in a Volkswagen Bus. (Those classic vans are now coming back in style!) I've always been fascinated by history, and we visited many of the places I’d read about.
When we started to have children, my nursing job became untenable, so I went back to school to put all that travel knowledge to good use. I studied to become a travel agent - and that has been my life's work since 1985.
Having children never stopped us from traveling, and as a travel professional and a parent, I learned to make traveling with children a positive rather than a drag. We started by taking our three children to Europe every summer. Now we take our grandchildren, who range in age from 3 to 17.
I have been fortunate to travel all over the world and have visited all 7 continents, nearly 140 countries and sailed on most major cruise lines. My greatest pleasure is putting my experience and knowledge to work for other people. I love helping my clients plan trips that make them happier, healthier, and closer with their families!
