With my years of experience both working for cruise lines and as a travel agent, I have the insider knowledge to help you select the ship, stateroom, itinerary and actual shore excursions that best match your travel style and preferences, and to get extra perks for you. Cruise lines and even actual ships within the same fleet differ in terms of size and onboard facilities and cater to different interests. Additionally, each line has its own unique policies regarding deposits, cancellations, inclusions and other details. No one line is best for everyone. For example, Silversea offers a high level of personalized service and spacious all suite accommodations. Due to the size of their ships, they are able to visit more remote areas not accessible by larger ships and can navigate through narrow passages such as the Corinth Canal. Seabourn’s ships are also able to visit more off-the-beaten-path ports of call.
One of the most interesting trips I’ve arranged was for a client who had wanted to cruise around the tip of the South American continent ever since reading ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’. The ‘Bounty’ had run into major problems and was not able to successfully circumnavigate Cape Horn. The cruise I sent him on was a fascinating and exhilarating adventure, sailing through varied climates (pack accordingly) and cultures, offering a chance to tour sophisticated cities such as Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Santiago (Chile), and to experience the Chilean fjords and nature at its grandest.
