Dual Passport, 3 Citizenships: A Life of Travel

With an American dad and Australian mom, I had my first passport before I was two weeks old, and had traveled around the world by the time I was three. I have been traveling ever since, so when it came to careers, travel was an obvious choice.

I grew up in Hong Kong and Singapore and then earned my undergraduate degree in the U.S. before relocating to Singapore and then Sydney with my American “wasband,” (ex-husband), who was a hotel developer. In Sydney, I earned a nationally-recognized Certificate IV in Tourism (Operations) from TAFE and became a travel agent. Then in 2010, we relocated back to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Back in California, I took a six-month class in travel and tourism management. I am proud to say that I got the highest mark in the state and earned a medal. I worked at several prestigious travel agencies and from 2013 through 2015, tapped my Asia/South Pacific knowledge as an American Express Travel Insider for Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific, China, Japan, and South-East Asia

In 2015, I looked into Protravel International—the world's leading luxury travel agency—at the suggestion of a friend who worked there. It has a great reputation in the industry and is one of the world’s leading luxury travel agencies. Now, I can offer my clients the best rates and exclusive VIP amenities plus personalized service that even includes helping them deal with their loyalty points and miles.

These days, I plan luxury leisure and business travel for sole proprietors and small businesses and serve as the travel planner for family offices. I spend a lot of time with each traveler so that I can customize every trip and experience. Each hotelier and supplier along the way knows who my clients are and why I chose them for that client.  And, if you are my client, I am always there for you, whether you run into an unexpected situation or you simply want to make a change in your itinerary.

When I’m not living vicariously through my clients or chasing after my teenagers, I love hiking, yoga and cooking for friends, as well as constantly planning my own next fantasy vacation. I’ve recently visited Australia, Paris, Monaco, Hawaii, India, and Fiji. On my current wish list, Bhutan is number one. What’s on your bucket list?
