I was born and raised in Mexico. I moved to San Antonio when I was 14, but I still go back every year to see friends and family. I love the rich culture. The language and music, the amazing food and the way the people smile; Mexico is so beautiful. Although my family lives in Monterrey, in the northern part of Mexico, I often find myself in Mexico City. All the restaurants, all the trendy boutique hotels; it’s an amazing city and its cultural richness.
The museums are amazing, like Museo de Antropologia and The Soumaya, both icons of Mexico City. I just had a Private Visit with one of the Historians at the Soumaya and it is something I can easily arrange and not to be missed! It has one of the biggest collections of the French sculptor, Auguste Rodin, who I love (although, not exclusively!) Visiting Tenochtitlan and doing the pyramids on a balloon ride is breathtaking! Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera are two of my favorites and Casa Azul in Coyoacán, where Frida was born and where she died is a jewel! The interrelations of her work and that house are a joy to explore! I can go on and on… Mexico City I always say is another Paris… a never ending wonder.
